Fire Regulations

 Each Sub Camp Leader will appoint a responsible person to enforce the Fire Safety requirements:
 

1.               At least a 10’ (3m) gap between tents (Patrol size).  At least an 8’ (2.5m) between tents

(Hike size)  Or a 2’ (0.6m) clear space between pegs of adjoining tent, whichever is the greater distance between tent walls.  For larger tents & marquees: please see Sub-Camp Staff before erecting.

2.               All roadways both made-up and designated to be kept clear at all times.

3.                Fire Hydrants are to be kept clear of all obstructions and be used by authorised persons only.

4.               No smoking at any time in a tented area.

5.               Litter and combustibles should not be allowed to accumulate.

6.               Flammable liquids and LPG (Gas) cylinders must be kept outside tents, in ‘l area. Bulk storage is strictly forbidden ample supplies will be availible from commercial outlets.

7.               Cooking and lighting appliances must not be used in small tents. When used in large tents they must be positioned well away from wall and roof surfaces, well away from other combustibles, and out of draughts.  They must be positioned where they cannot be knocked over.  They must only be filled, or have replacement cylinders fitted in the open air.

8.               No candles or naked flames to be used in or near tents

 9.               No open fires permitted.

10.            No vehicles to be parked in the camping area
