PERMISSION TO CAMP FORMS FOR GUIDE UNITS ATTENDING POACHER 2004
Guiders intending to bring girls to camp at Poacher are required to complete the official booking form provided by Poacher Administration, and should return it as required to the booking secretary.
Poacher will provide health forms and accident notification forms which meet the requirements of the Guide Association and therefore you will not be required to use Guiding ones, though you may take copies of the Poacher ones for your own use.
In addition, Guiders must complete the appropriate Permission to Camp forms as follows:
For camp bookings of 50 participants and under, the guider in charge of the group should complete an A/a form, signed as usual by her District Commissioner and Camp Adviser. A guider may not sign her own forms as District commissioner or Camp adviser and therefore should have them signed by the next most appropriate person. (Division Commissioner, County Camp or Outdoor Adviser)
There MUST be an adult leader with a Camp Licence with each booking group. There must also be a First Aider and experienced caterer. These people are there to care for the girls and should not have additional Poacher Staff commitments unless there are sufficient leaders to allow for regular absences.
If girls from another District are included in the camp then the A/j form must be completed for each district joining, signed in each case by their District Commissioner.
For camp bookings with 51 or more participants, the Guider in Charge should hold, or be working towards a licence endorsement for large camps. Form G/p should be completed now and processed by the home county. Followed by the A/a form as above.
All completed A/a forms (plus processed A/j where needed) should be sent to the Poacher Administration address from where they will be forwarded to the camp chief (Guides). Camp Chief (guides) will act as host adviser and will sign all permission to Camp slips and return them to the guider in Charge. A self addressed envelope will be required for this.
Guiders are reminded that A/a forms should reach Poacher Admin a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the camp ( though earlier would be preferable)
Any queries: Please contact your local camp adviser or if necessary, Poacher camp chief (guides)
